Antanna was founded in 2001 as a product design studio specialising in premium, high-quality handmade leather goods by co-owners Anthony and Anne Keyworth.
The business grew to incorporate the manufacture and retail of branding and design solutions aimed primarily at the hospitality and corporate gifting markets. Over a period of 10 years Antanna became a sizeable South Africa design exporter, largely through its pioneering use of exotic African materials in local manufacture.
Antanna formed long-standing relationships with leading interior designers and award-winning architects such as Cecile & Boyd, Yvonne O’Brien, White on White Interiors, Lauri Owen; plus Silvio Rech + Lesley Carstens and Ink Design Lab.
Collaborations included over 50 refurbishment, development and game lodge projects in Southern Africa including andBeyond (a conservation-led luxury travel group formerly known as CC Africa) and Wilderness Safaris (an ecotourism operator in Botswana).
Originally based in Milpark, Johannesburg at 44 Stanley, Antanna relocated its product design studio to Cape Town in 2010. Antanna’s leather goods business was sold in 2012. However, the company name was retained and still exists as the owner and operator of its subsidiary brand, Fruit Pack.
